1 It’s Cheap. I know your initial instinct is to think I’m crazy, but I’m not! If you focus on in-season fruits and vegetables you can save yourself a ton of money because prices tend to drop due to the increased availability. Also, learn which fruits and vegetables you don’t have to buy organic. Take avocados and pineapples for instance. They absorb a minimal amount of chemicals, so they’re ok to buy non-organic. Don’t forget that buying frozen is a great way to save money in general, but they’re also a great way to buy out of season produce at a cheaper cost! Fresh is best, but frozen is just as good and better than canned since they’re frozen at the height of the season!

2 It will help you be more mindful of what you eat. One of the things I love about clean eating is that once you start, it’s easier to make healthy eating choices throughout the day. I find it much easier to make smart eating choices when I’ve enjoyed a day of clean eating. I don’t want to mess that up with processed food that’s just going to make me feel bad. Clean eating is a viscous cycle of eating whole foods that causes you to say no to processed foods, fast foods, soda, and sugar.

3 It’s healthy, duh! Eating clean focuses on eating whole foods, typically fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains with little to no processed foods. Pairing lean protein with complex carbohydrates like whole grains and vegetables leads to increased energy and fat burning. And you’re tummy will thank you too. No more irregularities or rushing to the bathroom.

4 It helps you be a better version of yourself. Clean eating improves your focus, improves your memory and mood, increases your creativity and your energy levels. I can’t think of one person who would not enjoy these benefits! Seriously, if you’re always tired, have digestive issues, are in desperate need of mental clarity, etc. I’m telling you clean eating is the answer!

5  It promotes weight loss and aids in muscle definition. 80% of losing weight depends on what you eat. If you want to lose weight eating a clean diet will help you get there faster than exercise alone. You can exercise every day, but if your diet isn’t on point, your results will be slow if you see any. You can do all the core work you want, but if your diet isn’t clean you’ll never see your abs come through. Clean eating helps you get rid of that last layer of fat covering your abdominal muscles.

6 It’s delicious! A common misconception is that clean eating is bland and boring and that could not be further from the truth. Seriously, I need you to trust me on this one because I would never lead astray when it comes to food. I love food, it’s my thing. There are so many ways to add flavor to your food without adding calories or chemicals. Salsa or hot sauce, citrus (lemon, lime, orange), fresh herbs, onions and garlic, flavored vinegars, and ginger are just a few ways to pack a ton of flavor into your meals with few calories.
